Believing The Internet
So we all know that you can’t believe everything you read on the internet. Over break my friends and I found out just how true this is! About a month ago I received an invitation on Facebook to attend “Free Ice Coffee Day” at Dunkin Donuts on March 21. I of course accepted and then sent it to my friends who I knew would also be very excited about this! We all believed that this was happening on the 21st because Dunkin Donuts has done free ice coffee day in the spring in past years. There was also already a couple thousand people invited.
Well March 21st was last Friday and my sister and I, along with two of our friends woke up on Friday excited to get our free ice coffee. When we got there and asked about it the employees stared at us like we were crazy! They said they were never told about this and that we couldn’t get free coffee. Disappointed, we decided to go down the street to another Dunkin Donuts to see if maybe they would have it. Upon arriving we got the same reaction as the first one! We sadly payed for our ice coffee and went through the day getting text messages from all our friends who were also upset that there wasn’t any free coffee. After this experience we have come to realize even more that you can’t believe everything you read on the internet. While the internet has changed our lives and you can find information about just about anything in seconds, you still have to be careful about what is true and what isn’t!
