Docile bodies are used in advertising very frequently. This is because a docile body is influenced by the social norms on the time period. In advertising the goal is to get consumers to relate to your product and for the most part people want to be a part of the social norms of the day so by using a docile body in the ad it will create a desire within the consumer. This is an ad that Victoria Secret used. As you can see it shows two beautiful women who are showing off their tan and thin bodies. This is what todays society desires in all women, thus this is a great example of how a docile body was used in an ad.
